Since 2015, the National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA) has been developing and testing measurements to determine improvements in HVAC system energy performance after cleaning.
Field trials testing the changes in cooling performance and airflow have shown an average of 40% improvement in cooling at the cooling coil in commercial systems and a 54% improvement in airflow in cubic feet per minute (CFM). Residential systems have shown an average of 61% improvement in cooling and an 11% improvement in CFM.
In 2017, NADCA embarked on an international study of the measurement of kilowatt (kW) usage before and after HVAC cleaning by recording daily kW readings of HVAC systems two weeks before cleaning and two weeks after cleaning.
To encourage clients to give us their before and after readings, NADCA is offering a limited number of $250 rebates (or non-US currency equivalent) for commercial HVAC system cleanings performed by a NADCA member company, where there is a kilowatt monitor in place to measure electricity usage.
If you would like to participate in this rebate program, please submit your contact information and download the rebate form.
Thank you for your interest in NADCA’s efforts to improve energy performance in HVAC systems.
